Created by Dreamwave, a subsidiary of Dark Horse Comics, this comic features a short, 24-page version of the Metroid Prime storyline. The Metroid Prime comics were published in late 2002 in Nintendo Power issues 164-166. We hope you enjoy our scanlation of this short, lighthearted comic! This manga is notable in that it was drawn by Tamakichi Sakura, the artist who drew the Super Mario World comics which were featured in Nintendo Power in the 90s. The Metroid part is The Shape of Happiness 9, 10 and 11. In it features a 6-page, one-off comic featuring Metroid, and seems to be part of an ongoing series called The Shape of Happiness. Not much is known about Famitsu Comix, but this rare tankobon volume was released in March of 1989.These comics were the first to depict a backstory for Samus, as well as long blonde hair and a greedy personality, but has since been retconned by Nintendo. The Valiant-published Captain N Comics, however, made up for that. Though Mother Brain was the main antagonist, not a single episode featured our gal Samus.
